2025 NE Florida Outdoor Expo

Bradford Soil and Water Conservation District had fun at the 2025 NE Florida outdoor Expo on February 22nd! Put together by the UF/IFAS NE Florida livestock agents, this family-fun event is a great way to introduce all ages to the fun of the outdoors through education, experiences and more. Supervisor Oksun Burks and volunteer Frances Bradley inspired many to ‘paint with pines’ and create their own watercolor creation using ink made from pinecones. Take-home instructions to make your own ink were given out to extend the outdoor fun at home! The district was able to extend their Arbor Day tree giveaway at the event, with 50 slash pine seedlings taken to new homes along with take-home planting and care instructions from our local UF/IFAS horticulture and small farms agent Luke Harlow. BSWCD was also able to talk to folks from around the region on their concerns and important issues in soil and water conservation. It was good to see so many folks out enjoying the great outdoors – BSWCD hope to see you out and about soon!
